The goal is to create a performance that wants to investigate these contemporary times, the contemporary reality. And precisely from the question “What is reality?” the creation and exploration of this universe has begun. Using the language of butoh dance we intend to explore some issues that moves from the personal to the collective sphere and vice versa.

What is reality? Is it only what we can touch, see, perceive with our senses? Or is it something more? Is it the conscious or unconscious manifestation of our fantasies? Does it also include our sensations, our imagination, our dreams? Is it an act of personal perception? Is it an act of communication? Is it influenced from inside and outside?

CREATIVE PROCESS

The creation process is based on a mouvement research method, that investigate the mouvement on multiple levels, from the corporeal to the energetic and spiritual level, the personal and collective. It is precisely about “research” and therefore does not want to preclude different and unforeseen paths. The focal point is the body itself in its most primordial expression, going to investigate the most obscure, hidden, subconscious parts. Butoh dance is the expressive language that is best suited to reveal these parts. We use the body as starting point of creation, and we also use Tarot card to help us to explore the unconscious part and the symbolic part, studying and working them through movement. Another important part of the choreographic creation is the musicality of the movement, the quality of the movement, the contrasts and the synchronization, working the synchronization both on a fixed choreography and on improvisation and listening.
