Hélo Moondi is a Berlin-based artist,

working with sound and contemporary media.

She has studied music from an early age, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2015, followed by a Master’s degree in Sound Art from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona in 2017.

Her master’s project focused on artistic research with field recordings and the sonification of natural graphic scores (see the project "Conversation des murmures"). She is particularly interested in live music practice, site-specific art, and the theory of sound and perception.

In 2013, she presented the sound installation and performance “Expérience apocalyptique” at La Fabrique art center in Toulouse. In 2016, she participated in the residency “Paysages sonores du Raval” culminating in a spatialized concert on 12 speakers at the Santa Monica art center in Barcelona.

In 2018, she performed a live music set at the Convento Sant Augusti art center in Barcelona as part of the "Mostra Sonora i Visual." She is also involved in creating installations and providing artistic direction for the Estrany festival (Catalan festival of the "unusual music").

In collaboration with sound technician Luis Meissner, they composed and record in 2022 for the fiction film “Il y a un endroit dans la nuit” by Timothée Engasser and Mia Oustry. Later in 2023, Helo Moondi composed the music for the Butoh dance choreographer Maruska Ronchi in collaboration with international dancers: Luiza de Cnop (Brazil), Franziska Gerth (Germany), and Ilaria Vergani (Italy). That same year, she was selected to perform live at the "Pop Sounds pop stories" festival at the ACUD MACHT NEU concert hall in Berlin.

She performs in 2024 at the Berlin club Katerblau for Atmosphere Vol.5, presenting a hybrid mix combining her soundscape compositions with those of other artists from the alternative electronic scene.

In radio broadcasts and at bass music events, she endeavors to interlace connections across a spectrum of sonic landscapes, reflecting urban environments and spanning from experimental soundscapes to industrial electronic music.

Through her radio program "𝕊𝕙𝕦𝕗𝕗𝕝𝕖 𝕚𝕟 ℤ𝕚𝕠𝕟" she explores experimental breakbeat and collage, crafting introspective sonic voyages inspired by musique concrète, noise, dub or future bass.
